Welcome

I tried to think of something clever to say for my first post…but now, of course, I seem to have writer’s block. For the past two weeks or so I’ve had so many thoughts going through my head. I thought to myself…”if I had a blog, I could write all this down, all these crazy experiences, lessons learned, class discussions, etc….so many opportunities and trials I’ve been through.” And now here I sit…bored to death at work because it’s Friday and everyone is leaving early for their Spring Break vacations…and I can’t think of a single thing to say. Well, I’ve managed to draw a fewย meager, uninspiring thoughts out of my head and unto paper.

Ink and Toilet Paper.

First of all…Why Ink & Toilet Paper? Inspiration. Semmie has been inspiring me since I was 13 years old (about the time we met) to write. Sometimes I wonder if I’d be the writer I am today if it were not for all those Letters to Semmie written on notebook paper while bored at school or gently scripted on carefully chosen toilet paper from the bathroom at home. So why toilet paper? Well…you’ll have to ask Semmie about that.

Once again, Semmie is the inspiration for this blog. I’ve been following her for some time, off and on. A certain post by Semmie, a couple of years back, brought us back together, afterall…and we have returned to our ink & toilet paper letters.

Where do I go from here?

I’ve been browsing through the plethera of blogs on wordpress for about a week now…and I must say…the variety of blogs is amazing. Who knew this blogosphere world was so massive and diversified? Apparently I’ve been out of the loop for years! So…I am welcoming myself to this new adventure. As the future of blogging unfolds, I hope to be apart of this vast new world of writing, sharing my many thoughts on theology, life lessons, God, travel, food & recipes, family, education, politics…whatever comes to mind.

So pull up a chair. Enjoy. Read, respond, ask questions, challenge, inspire, be yourself. And never stop writing.
